So that means, obviously, Jon Jay is out, Punto is in, and Schu moves to CF. Jay is 2-11 with 2 RBIs NLDS. Jay was 0-3 vs Halladay G1

IF it's true, why in the world would Tony play things so cool until a game 5 and then get all Tony on us again? Skip has started 1 game in CF a single time this season and was questionable for the game anyway.

Punto at 2nd, though, is an upgrade defensively and not much of a defensive drop.

Tony wants a good defense behind Carp and Skip has an entire portfolio of LaRussa wealth, so there's no way he sits an elimination game. I don't think this has to do with notecards.

They're talking about it now on mlb network. Shoe batting 2nd in CF, Punto 8th at 2B.

So, we hope Skip's hammy is okay. I'd rather just have Skip at 2B and Jay in CF with Punto ready off the bench.

Now I'm sure Punto will hit a 2-run HR in his first AB.

Miklasz has it on twitter.

BTW, Skip is 4-11 against Halladay. Punto has hit him ok in his career. Jay hasn't.

This entire decision is based on a handful of ab's. With Carp on the mound, I guess I don't really care. The huge gain in defense with Punto at 2B is more acceptable to me than whatever loss there is between Skip and Jay in CF.
