There is a section of Springfield, IL near where I grew up called "Little Arkansas". I have kin that live there.

The one thing I have learned recently is that liberal friends can be just as obnoxious and whacked out as conservative friends. It's about equal I think.

I suppose that could happen in Chicagoland. In my land - there are people that if they have any suspicion that you aren't adherent to conservative views, then they go all evangelical on you. They are trying to root out the non-Believers.

I could handle a few more whacked out liberals in my life. I've got whacked out conservatives coming out my arse.

I dislike openly conservative dickheads and openly liberal dickheads equally. If your car is covered with NRA stickers or NPR "Informed" stickers, I probably won't like you.

I agree with jim. And we see a lot more NPR than NRA in Boulder.

The nature of my work attracts a very liberal crowd. If you took the pulse of my workplace, I'm certain it would be as liberal a workforce as you could find. Most keep things to themselves, a few do not. I have been at social type gatherings at work where some feel compelled to just pluck out of thin air some political topic and proceed to discuss it in such a manner that it's assumed that everyone will agree with their side. Same as conservatives, but here at work I rarely hear someone voice a strong conservative opinion.

Trust me, liberals suck too. Just as narrow minded, just as prone to ignore the truth to support their image as conservatives are. It's exactly equal in my book.

I had a Comm Law professor who always said its not the 4s and 5s you have to worry about, it's the 1s and 10s. That gets truer every day.

Yeah, but which one has more real power (as in control of govt, resources, wealth)?

I too don't like people that define themselves by their political tribe and wear it on the sleeve. But I find the uber-liberals harmless and disjointed at this point in history. These are not just two sides of the same coin with liberals and conservatives.

I'm just saying I am repulsed by both groups. The conservative nut jobs are probably better organized than the liberal whack jobs as you say. But in regards to Facebook and gatewayredbirds and people at work and stuff like that - equally obnoxious.
