Re: 14-15 College Basketball Thread
One thing im reminded of as i look at my trainwreck of a bracket is that "experts" know absolutely nothing and i should just go with my gut.
I think from now on im just gonna pick all favorites. I feel like it'll work in my favor most of the time.

I've tried that for the most part. You would have been equally as burned this year though.go birds wrote:One thing im reminded of as i look at my trainwreck of a bracket is that "experts" know absolutely nothing and i should just go with my gut.

i heard something on the radio as far as "measures" one should take when filling out a bracket. i remember two of them...there were maybe like, 4-5
1) don't let personal bias play into it
2) look at teams last 10-15 games, how they've played, etc
so theres that

Re: 14-15 College Basketball Thread
I hadn't watched a single minute of college basketball this year and did zero research. Tried not to listen to very much the "experts" on the subject..because as stated, they don't do much better in these things.
I won 12 games yesterday and my wife is leading my office pool w/ 14 wins after day one....so we did better than expected.

They didn't do me any favors (Baylor to the Sweet 16, and Iowa St. to the Final Four)...but your bracket can survive as long as it doesn't take any more major blows today (like Elite 8 or Final Four teams)....I always overreact the first/scond day if a team I had going deep blows it.Fat_Bulldog wrote:Baylor and Iowa State ruined my bracket.

I like talking sports. But, I [expletive] hate our office during March Madness. We do an office pool and the overreactions (I had a guy tell me his bracket was done, literally, 2 minutes into the Iowa State game -which was the 2nd game of the day) combined with the repetition of information (hey did you see IA ST lost? IA State lost? IA STATE LOST! MY BRACKET IS SO BUSTED *18 times* WHO DIDN'T HAVE IA STATE? EVERYONE HAD IA STATE WINNING THAT GAME!!1 HEY DID YOU SEE BAYLOR LOST? BAYLOR LOST? BAYLOR LOST! MY BRACKET IS SO BUSTED *18 times* WHO DIDN'T HAVE BAYLOR? EVERYONE EXCEPT TIMMY HAD BAYLOR WINNING THAT GAME. OMG, TIMMY!!!!1 TIMMY, YOU'RE SO SMART!!!11ONE.)
Oh my [expletive] god. Shoot me in the head.
