ESPN's Buster Olney reports that the Giants are "making progress" on an agreement with Johnny Cueto.
Olney adds that the two sides "could reach a deal soon." CBS Sports' Jon Heyman reported earlier Monday that The Giants' offer to Cueto "would easily beat" the six-year, $126 million proposal that Cueto turned down from the Diamondbacks. Assuming the contract is finalized, the Giants will have vastly improved their rotation with the additions of Cueto and Jeff Samardzija.

Honestly he probably thinks his deal was better.
He signed it two years ago when he was older than Cueto and it was only 2m/year less than what Cueto got....and salaries have gone up a lot in the last two years.
