A talented player we wanted probably woke up thinking he would be a Cardinal, but by the end of the day signed with the Sox.

Project the White Sox out 3-4 years and I don't know if they are really that far behind the Cardinals. The White Sox had the #4 farm system according to most lists before this signing.PA_Hiker wrote:Either way, it's disappointing to lose out on a potentially good player to a team that has shown it has no ability to contend. Must have been some video pitch.
Good luck projecting 4 years out.pioneer98 wrote:Project the White Sox out 3-4 years and I don't know if they are really that far behind the Cardinals. They could be ahead of the Cards. Or still in 4th place in the AL Central like they've mostly been for as long as I've been alive.pioneer98 wrote:Project the White Sox out 3-4 years and I don't know if they are really that far behind the Cardinals. The only player where we heard either concerns about the Cardinals or concerns about St. Louis before the fact was Fowler, and that got done because we offered more money than anyone else. That's why I'm still inclined to believe money was the dominant factor.AWvsCBsteeeerike3 wrote:Ding ding ding.Tim wrote:As an organization there needs to an autopsy to figure wtf is going on when you can be highest bidder and still lose someone to the white sox
Also, it's not the first time we've heard of something like this. Remember the rumors that Fowler was hesitant to sign with the Cardinals. And heyward was hesitant to sign with the Cardinals.
It's like a yearly tradition. Well, we offered the same or more money but players wouldn't come here.
