I don't know. 2023 3B if I had my way. Arenado is good but I move him to another position before I move a franchise cornerstone.
Walker is hitting better than several major leaguers already in AA EV wise. I mean, I would take Walker right now over Whit Merrifeld and many MLBers.
Maybe Walker can be SS. They're playing O'Neill Cruz at SS with his insane height. Walker could move back? Maybe? But they LOVE Masyn Winn at SS. I don't know what the hell they do.
Something's got to give with Arenado and Goldy. But having 4+ WAR players is good so....someone is moving. Goldy may be odd many out. Gorman's future is 1B IMO.
I think he'll get his first cup of coffee in MLB at corner outfield and DH because of all you mentioned above. But if she tries out SS, I'm already preparing to call a possible infield of Goldy, Gorman, Walker, and Arenado, the bomb squad.

This year he is hitting a lot of singles. He has a real nice OBP, but the slugging is missing. Is he just getting pitched around? Just hitting the ball hard on the ground? Just some random bad luck?

He's the youngest guy in AA. 19 years old. Power always takes awhile. Signs the power will come: his insane exit velocity. Average age in AA is still like 22-23. Have the Cardinals even had a 19 year old in Springfield in awhile? Who was the last? Carlson was 20 even.
At age 19, he's the 19th best hitter in AA. He was always known for raw power but game power is a 25/70 rating. Potential is there but hasn't shown quite yet.
Walker is a 55 future value. Wander Franco is an 80 FV. So Walker isn't projected to be as good as a Franco/Tatis type.

Yeah possibly and the dead ball too maybe? Seems guys way older than him are struggling to hit too.
His walking ability is so desirable though. A command of the strike zone will allow him to start hitting for power later as he matures. We shall know more of his future this time next year.
