Was one of those the one where it got under him and certainly seemed like it might have crossed the line but there was no view of the puck beneath Binnington from above?AWvsCBsteeeerike3 wrote:Dallas absolutely blew 4 chances in my recollection.
Benn earlier in the game had a roughly 1' opening on the near side and missed the net with his backhand. Hintz, iirc, hit the side of the net on a wrap around with about 50 seconds left. Comeoauu (sp?) had half a net open on a rebound, iirc, and missed wide in OT. Benn in 2OT shot a wrap around to the other side of the net where Binnington had a pad down. But, if he puts that on the closer half of the net it's a goal.
Of course, you can say if Schenn doesn't hit Klingsberg skating away from him on that one timer the games over. Ditto if that shot that got through Bishop doesn't careem wide somehow. Etc etc etc. What could have been, but really the Stars had more legit blown opps than the blues. Bishop just played amazingly.

Yes. It was in 2OT about a minute before the blues scored.lukethedrifter wrote:Was one of those the one where it got under him and certainly seemed like it might have crossed the line but there was no view of the puck beneath Binnington from above?AWvsCBsteeeerike3 wrote:Dallas absolutely blew 4 chances in my recollection.

I have proof. Finals were the winners of the expansion division and original six division. We were that team for the first three years. And to no one's surprise our record was 0-12.Popeye_Card wrote:We did. I made the cut at ‘79-‘80, which was the first post-merger season.
We did make those first 3 years, but mostly due to how the league was structured, putting all the expansion teams in one conference. So they count, but they don’t really count.

Of course the other kicker with those SCF teams? Coached by Scotty Bowman.Radbird wrote:I have proof. Finals were the winners of the expansion division and original six division. The Blues have employed—and fired—4 of the top 5 winningest coaches of all time. 17 cups between them. 0 of course with the Blues.

Isn’t that the craziest? 5/9 if you include Keenan. Arbour, Bowman, Quenneville are the ones we let get away. Hitch and Keenan we got post-prime.Popeye_Card wrote:Of course the other kicker with those SCF teams? Coached by Scotty Bowman.Radbird wrote:I have proof. Maroon's sister cut my hair at nearby Great Clips years ago. Found out because she was listening to a SJ sharks game on a feed.
I've been sitting on this important story for years and found the perfect day to unveil this deal of a lifetime:
FOR SALE EXCLUSIVELY ON GRB, A LOCK OF HAIR FROM A HEAD THAT WAS ONCE CUT BY PAT MAROON'S SISTER! QUANTITIES LIMITED(sadly so)

Rad, we have some of the same swag. I've got one of those Blues bottles (empty though), the 2011 game 6 poster (2nd printing though) and a can each of the 06 and 11 WS win beers.
