I watched the very first episode, however long ago that was. That good?
Edit: Just wiki'd it, quite a pedigree. Something to try at least! Thanks!

It's extremely good. Really [expletive] heavy though.
Check out Barry as well.

Lovecraft Country didn’t disappoint, though at least in the first episode the thick dread you associate with Lovecraft’s description of supernatural evil is instead generated by the pervasive racism. The supernatural/otherworldly elements seem almost silly by comparison, so I’m curious how they’ll keep walking that line.

The Leftovers is extremely good. Haunting. Enigmatic. Perfectly acted. And oddly prescient. The question it asks is: in the face of unprecedented wide scale tragedy, what do people do to cope? There’s a parallel to today with COVID-19/Qanon.

I mean, did you see Chernobyl? At least it’s not as bad as that!

3rd episode of Lovecraft Country was really good after a dip in the second episode which I thought was actually a little corny and cheap looking. Better than the premiere IMO.
I hadn't realized it but it looks like the book is a series of creepy stories with this one set of family and friends, loosely tied together by characters and events from what's covered in the first 2 episodes. I've actually been hoping to see a return of less serialized shows and if we get an X-Files style monster of the week show with the conspiracy/mythology running in the background and occasionally taking focus, I'll be very happy.
