Tracker or Catcher or whatever the heck it's called seems to be popular.

What are today’s good network-ish (if kids are about) body of the week shows like Monk or Bones or Perry Mason (non fat guy running down the street full frontally nude-version)?

These are good shows to have around. Keep me from watching 30 Rock yet again almost joylessly at this point. But also doesn’t require signing on for some three year arc.

Weird modern world. Very few adult programs to watch with kids around. Meanwhile many kids shows with jokes and parodies no one under 30 could grasp. I think someone could and should make a hilarious adult show that’s perfectly fine for kids. I also think no one wants to.
Most of that era of USA network probably fits the bill. You mentioned Monk, but Psych, Suits, Royal Pains, White Collar, they perfected that formula the way that CBS has treated a darker version with all the iterations of CSI, NCIS, JAG, Criminal Minds, etc.

On streaming it's a little harder. Jack Ryan would probably fit best that I've seen, it's one story per season but each season is self-contained. I haven't watched Reacher, but from what I've read it might be similar. Also, there's the occasional swear word but the Harlan Coben adaptations on Netflix(Fool Me Once, Safe, The Stranger, Stay Close, etc) are ~8 episode self contained stories that are good to enjoy the plot twists every 15 minutes.

I'm not sure what the point of it was but I enjoyed A Gentleman in Moscow.

i'm not watching the acolyte but i did watch RLM's review of it (at least the 1st 4 episodes). it's 90 mins and the first hour is more about the discourse around star wars anymore. the last 30 mins is their thoughts on the show. don't think people here like RLM but i do find the discussion interesting

I’m a little bit warmer on them than I used to be, if only because so many movie YouTubers are far worse.

Apart from that I just don’t have any inherent interest in the Disney-owned stuff anymore. I’m not planning to watch anything unless I hear enough good things, like with Andor. Daredevil might be the exception. The excitement over Deadpool kind of baffles me.

yeah i definitely don't have interest in disney star wars anymore either (and superhero stuff). the original trilogy is great, there's maybe 2 books i enjoyed and a couple video games i enjoyed but otherwise i'm done with star wars, disney owned or not. i suppose the 1st season of mando was pretty good, 2nd season was ok, then i checked out. also probably coincides with my personal disdain for streaming services anymore...though there are plenty of pirate sites i could watch this content on and i just don't. RLM did actually review Andor a few months ago and they did enjoy it (IIRC). i think they only ended up watching it 'cause it was so well received, etc. i was surprised to see this video pop up last night from them but like i said, it's more about the weird tug and pull/online discussion of these properties, which i find interesting.

I don't mind the direction Disney has taken Star Wars and Marvel stuff. If you even want to call it that. They continue to make movies and shows, some being better than others, but mostly these properties have just run their course. They're mindless entertainment - only a few movies/shows would you consider any sort of higher art. Don't act like they are pissing on the Mona Lisa or something. It isn't like Disney has even the worst track record with Marvel material. The Netflix Marvel shows ran the gamut from great to awful. Sony has been absolutely butchering the greater Spiderman universe. The X-Men movies were very hit and miss.

I at least appreciate that Disney has made most of the Star Wars movies/shows at least look and feel like Star Wars, unlike the prequels.

I have a lot of other beefs with Disney in regards to their business practices, but I find all of the uproar over the "woke" shows and movies pretty hilarious.

My Star Wars as religion childhood friends can’t even be bothered to be outraged by all the Star Wars stuff At this point. And they’re outraged by everything since Return of the Jedi. I really thought Boba Fett would set them off. That seems pretty damning. Or maybe that’s exactly how Disney would have it.

The best thing for Marvel would be to shut it all down for five years, IMO.
