Kennedy got off to an auspicious start, but that line drive snag + triple has been pretty good stuff.

Agreed. That's a freaking tough catch...I'm just displeased he's made two mental errors defensively already. (Make that three...Taguchi drops one as I'm typing this.)

He dropped an easy fly ball, he didn't pull up to play a carom, and he cut off the CFer on a ball to his (Taguchi's) left with a runner heading to third. Taguchi makes a weak offline throw to third because his momentum is gonig away from third and his arm is on the wrong side to boot...whereas Edmonds has his momentum going towards third and can field the ball set to throw.

Just not the sort of things I expect from a guy who's on the roster largely for his defense (and for batting right handed).

I really think Taguchi will be gone before the season is over.

Uh oh...

When the lumbering and geriatric Moises Alou is playing better defense than your alleged defensive stud, what do you do?

Be thankful you avoided the shutout?

You could see that out at the plate coming in live action. You can't send him there.

Now that's an arm. No need to send him with AP coming up.

Why is Jose Oquendo sending Eckstein on that? Christ, I realize that it is harder when you are on the field and you have a split second, but you have to think, "hard hit ball + Eckstein + Beltran's arm"

Using the Win Expectancy Finder, the Cardinals' chances of winning went from 11 percent to 7 percent.

Just lousy baseball all the way around. Pitching, defense, baserunning, you name it.
