If it's true that is fantastic news. I'll be there 4/21 to witness the carnage. Does AP take him deep 3 or 4 times?
I was really bored and went through five games at a time and came up with those days. so yeah he is scheduled to face the Cards 2 times in the next few weeks unless Lou switches up his rotation...
oh and Sunday we get to see Jeff Suppan start against the Cards for the first time... that should be interesting
I'm watching the Reds/Dbacks game and Tod Coffey was just brought into the game. I don't understand why he runs to the mound like he's being chased by midgets with tazers. He's not exactly the slimmest of dudes. You would think he wants to preserve his energy for pitching.

He said in an interview it calms him down and helps him get rid of his nerves. It's funny as heck to watch, especially the way he flails his arms, T-rex style.

Yea, I guess that's one way to get over the nerves. It obviously doesn't tire him out or else he wouldn't do it. Of course, everytime I see him do that, the announcer always says 'I'm tired just watching him run like that.'

He comes in and throws the heat, mid 90's.
Al and some other announcers always talk about how some guys come into the game all keyed up and their pitches are a bit wild and/or high as a result and once they get tired out they then throw strikes. I figure that's his way of tiring himself out a bit to keep from being too hyped up, tire himsel out a bit. *nods*

It works for Coffey. I guess if they are a little tired, they aren't concentrating about the situation to much and are able to throw strikes.
The A's just obliterated Bobby Jenks in the ninth.
Two consecutive singles, two consecutive outs including Swisher popping out, then Todd Walker goes opposite field to score Bradley, who came in EASY because Scott Podsednik has a girly arm.
Then Crosby knocks one to the wall and Podsednik pulls a Taguchi and jumps at air. A's win 2-1.
The funny thing is that some guy named Travis Buck hit a leadoff triple in the fifth and the A's couldn't get a run home to save their lives. Up until the 9th inning they made St. Louis look like a juggernaut.
