If you can't toot your own horn, why have one?

To play with when you're home alone.

And to scoot when you're in a crowd.

Much ado about nothing or is Roy just unhappy?

I'd heard Oswalt wasn't happy about going to the bullpen. Who knows--maybe he was being honest about what he could do, but clearly the Rangers read it as Roy's dissatisfaction over being a reliever.

I wish I was a major league starting pitcher, but you don't see me [expletive] about it. Try being good at pitching before you complain about not having the job you want, Roy.

Guess those of us who wanted to get him were wrong. 6.49 ERA. Ow.

3.45 xFIP. Little early to write him off. I also don't see the problem with a pitcher who's adapting to a bullpen role being reticent about staying in a game when his arm feels overworked.

Yeah, I suspect this is much ado about nothing.

Isn't xFIP directly correlated to home run rate?

Oswalt's home run rate may be a little inflated (although I think the sample size is too small to say for sure), but even if you consider that, he's been pretty bad. His WHIP is 1.60, ground balls are down, line drives are up. He just doesn't seem to be fooling anyone.
