RE: NIU

I think they did OK. They were certainly over matched against a team that was simply bigger, faster and stronger. I've never seen Lynch play that bad. Obviously he wasn't going to run the ball effectively - but his passes were so off the mark that I think the bigness of the moment got to him. To be honest, I'm just glad the score wasn't 58-6 or something like that. They were in the game midway through the 3rd quarter, and but for that pick after the onside kick it could have been a game down the stretch. In the end, they really have nothing to be ashamed about, and their recruiting certainly should get a boost from the exposure.

That's my favorite part of all. As if it's not enough that he launched some poor kid into the next county, he simply looks down and says "Oh, and [expletive] you, I'm taking the ball too."

Lose 33-23 in a game that apparently wasn't really that close. Wow. SEC now 3-3 in bowl games with three left.

Other than against the B1G, I don't think the SEC has that good of a record in bowl games the past couple years. too lazy to look it up though.

I'm just nerdy and curious enough to look it up.

6-3 last year, 5-5 the year before, 6-4 the year before that, 6-2 the year before that, 7-2 the year before that.

3-3 this year, with Ole Miss, 'Bama, and A&M still yet to play.

Thanks.

That's 17-12 over the last 3 years. I think they're 7-3 (the three arranged B1GvSEC games + the Arkansas/OhioState Sugar Bowl) against the B1G during that time, which would mean 10-9 outside those matchups. obviously those bowl games count. So, it's stupid to discount them. But, still interesting I guess.

Yeah, going back 4-5 years is crazy good though!

It's also tough to know how to gauge it, really. Is it better to have a conference that's very good, top to bottom? Or one that's top-heavy and wins the national championship every year? I'm not sure it means much to have your 6-6 9th place team win the Doritos Smoka Bowl.

Right. Plus, I think they are 3-0 in the cotton bowl during that span. And, they're 3-1 in the BCS Championship. If you go down the pecking order of bowls, it's gonna go BCSChampion/BCSGames/Cotton Bowl/B1G matchups(roughly/)leftovers, so they're respectively 3-1/1-1/3-0/7-2/3-8
