Sorry the weather didn't cooperate, the atmosphere at a game in St. Louis is unmatched generally. I'm sure it was more subdued with the rain and 10:00 start time.

I'm glad you liked the stadium, you have been out west so I'm surprised to say that you like it as much as San Fran or Seattle. The view in San Fran really looks amazing.

Please keep in touch from time to time. Safe travels and Go Cards!

Man, I hope so. First, the damn heat. Second to clear the area, we don't have a very bike-friendly metropolitan area, especially for someone unfamiliar with the nuances.

Good luck English Cyclist. I am envious. If you have a chance, or happen across a minor league ball park in your travels - give them a try.

I feel so used. cbf just chatted us up so friendly-like then moved on to KC. I should have known better than to fall for a traveling message boarder.

Sorry for the late reply - I overslept and am having a pretty fun time with the bike - the two outer rings on the front gears have worn down and so I'm not having much fun kn these hills. Back tyres also on the verge of blow out and so I'm just hoping to get to Jefferson City in the next couple of hours before the shops close. And then also that I can make it to the Royals for tomorrow.....this really isn't going well!

But I'll be back :-)

Oh, and for the record, in terms of the other ballparks, SF and Safeco are both good but I like old stuff, so Dodger Stadium stands out so far. But I don't really like LA (in general) so let me have a think about where's the best venue and I'll get back to you.

For now I just need to get my dysfunctional bike 20 miles more....

Hello all,

I just wanted to update this - despite the 96 degree heat, headwinds and the fact that the bike fell apart, I made it to Kansas City for the game last night with 20 minutes to spare. Good for me, but with no time to shower, not so good for those who had to sit near me. For the record, also a good ballpark and I applaud any team whose singalong is 'I've got friends in low places'.

Anyway, I've got a rest day now so just updating a bit of stuff online - I'll always poke my head back round the door to say hi, but I don't spend much time online so for those who did want to follow how I'm doing the best way is going to be via the Facebook Page I have - here and for non-Facebookers I've also got a website which has a little bit about the trip on, as well as the other ride I went on, which is www.worldwidebikeride.com .

On there, there's also the list of games I'm heading to - I'll be seeing your lot again in Cincinnati so if anyone's going to the game then please get in touch, or if you have any friends who would be up for going to one of the games down the list at another team then I appreciate all the help I can get, so please send them my way.

I think that's it, but carry on enjoying your beautiful park and good luck for the rest of the season :)

At work and can't open your website. Will you by any chance be in Chicago the weekend of 8/16-8/18?

Alas no, I'll be in Baltimore/Phillie area by then. I'm in Chicago from the 9th to 11th of July and back there a couple of weeks later (26th I think) for the White Sox).

Was the website not working, or was it just blocked at your work? Just want to know if it has a problem?

from his website:
Who is my team?

I began watching baseball in the year of the home run chase of '98 and so, for my sins, follow the Cubs. I should hit Wrigley Field around the 5th of July so am looking forward to that day!

We've been had.
