His second hit today was a single between third and short with 103 EV so he’s scalding the ball even though it’s not leaving the park.

Already 22 years old, but he has insane stuff. I think he jumps to AA this year. Possibly AAA next and maybe could be seen by late next year.

Well, this homer might not have entered the stratosphere, but Oklahoma State first baseman Griffin Doersching did the closest thing to it, crushing a ball off the bat at 113 mph that traveled 513 feet according to data provided by OSU.
For reference, the longest home run recorded in the Statcast era (since 2015) was a 505-foot rocket from Nomar Mazara in 2019. Only one other homer in that span eclipsed the 500-foot mark, with the other being a 504-foot Giancarlo Stanton moonshot in '16.
While we can’t verify the distance officially, it sure looked the part, as it cleared the scoreboard in left field at OSU’s O’Brate Stadium. Admittedly, the NCAA's use of metal and composite bats may have aided in the flight distance of Doersching's blast.
For Doersching, it was his ninth homer of 2022, as the 23-year-old is having a breakout season in his first year with the Cowboys. The 6-foot-4 grad transfer has been on a tear over his past eight games, driving in a whopping 19 runs coming into Friday night.
