Every striker is going to scuff one--though his was quarterfinal costly--but I just don't think Wondo really belongs in the WC at all. Especially if he's the closest approximation to your first choice. I think Klinsmann effed that up with no legit contingency. Again, EJ is no Jozy and 10 times the ass, but I'd honestly take him most every time over Wondo (I don't believe I've ever seen Boyd play, maybe he's the right guy to point at).

Honestly, I would've taken Agudelo, but he wasn't even in camp.

Another newbie question...the consensus is that the future is very bright, but how bright? They were clearly far behind Belgium. Where do you think the team will be in 4 years? I think they were ranked like #15 in the world this year. Will they climb much above that? I guess if they were to be matched with a similar team to Belgium next time, would they still be the underdog, or be a lot more evenly matched? Just trying to get a feel for what "bright future" means.

If any of you are inspired and fancy supporting an "EPL" team Everton would be glad of some fans.
It's only fair after I chose the Cardinals last year (I even dont mind they play in red!)

Roberto Martinez is an analyst for ESPN here in the US during this (and the last) World Cup. Don't know if Everton fans in the UK knew that. He's fantastic.

Oh the fans are well aware of this, even know he got in trouble after giving someone his stadium pass.
I hate this time of year, world cup aside all the papers here are full of transfer rumours and maybe 1 in 20 turn out to be true. The moaning has started already that there have been no signings, it's a shame because I think 3 or 4 players and......well who knows.
I was a bit worried when they got him but on the whole he impressed me last season, though there were a few blips and the whole pass the thing from the back grates after a while, nothing wrong with a long ball forward on occasion.
I hope he can pull a few rabbits out of the hat this summer, he has to really, the club really need to spend too, not too much though.
A win at Anfield would be nice next season after breaking the 22 year Old Trafford duck last year.

You guys have been linked with John Brooks, the 22 year old American defender. I'd love to see that. Everton has always been good to the Americans that end up there. I don't really have an PL team, but I have always really liked watching Everton.

There are lots fans over there choosing Everton as their team after Howards performance the other night, it's a shame there is no time to organise a few friendlies over there this summer and make the most of this. They were over last year and played at Dodgers Stadium and somewhere else I can't remember.
There have been a few Amercians play for Everton over the years, Brian McBride and Landon Donovan made an impact in a short time but were maybe too old to have a long stay. Joe Max-Moore was here when the team was not that good, he always gave his all though.
Howard has been mainly good, though he seems to get beaten by distance quite a bit, but a goalie is only as good as his defence I think.
I would take a top 10 finish and any cup next season, 20 years with nothing is too long.
