I don't like it. Don't need two Gyorkos. I think you could get Frazier for less money if you wanted bench insurance. But Gyorko was always supposed to be that anyways. I think on a one-year, you're looking at $15+MM at the least. If you went 2-3 years, maybe you could get the AAV down to $14MM or less.

According to Jon Morosi of MLB Network, "Eric Hosmer's camp has continued pushing for" a contract of more than seven years.
Hosmer has a couple of seven-year offers on the table -- one from the Padres reportedly worth around $140 million and one from the Royals that is said to be worth $147 million -- but the 28-year-old free agent and his representatives are hoping a club will ultimately reach a little higher. Morosi notes that the Royals' capacity to pay Hosmer increased somewhat with Monday's trade of Brandon Moss. Hosmer posted a career-best .318/.385/.498 batting line with 25 home runs and 94 RBI over 162 games for Kansas City in 2017.
