I wouldn't mind each getting full years at AA then AAA.

Does anyone think there is anyway they would be advanced quicker than that? Seems Anderson is off to a good start, even though it is just a start.

With both guys being just 20 I dont see them coming up any earlier. Rasmus might win the starting job when Edmonds leaves (retires) after 2008. With Anderson I think they are going to have to find another position for him.

Yes, Yadi I just dont see anyone bumping him for a while only 24 I believe.

A full year at AA and a full year at AAA is actually ideal for Rasmus...Edmonds has this year (while Rasmus is in AA) and next year (while Rasmus is in AAA), then his contract is up...So, hopefully Edmonds can hold up until then and then Rasmus can take over as a starter.

I think that's part of it, but I also think that Anderson might be best suited to another position.

Why do you think so? His plate blocking skills are below average but his arm is strong and his bat is well above average for a catcher. I think if he continues to hit he should be the starter by 2009 at the latest.

Maybe move Anderson to LF. The word is dude can flat RAKE. I see Duncan moving to RF after next year (when Juan is gone). I also see if Jimmy does ANYTHING at all the next two years and doesnt hang um up, a move to one of the corners.

I don't think that Anderson will ever hit for enough power to warrant playing in a corner outfield position...

I think he's very valuable as a catcher, but useful-but-not-great as a corner outfielder.

I had a different post (in baseball section) about several guys who appeared to possess little power in the minors, but blossomed into power hitters in the majors once they hit 24-25 years old.

Don't be too quick to judge Anderson. He's clearly a good hitter, and an .896 OPS in rookie ball at age 19 is not exactly slap-happy. Give him a few years to develop his power.
