Rasmus' line is officially respectable

After a 2-4 performance today he's up to .234/.306/.429/.734. Its just a matter of time before he gets up to .300 with patience and power.

Right now, the trinity of Anderson, Rasmus and Jay hasn't been overly impressive with the exception of Anderson, but Rasmus and Jay have shown a solid walk rate, meaning their numbers will be there.

If these three can develop, it will be worth watching the crap the Cardinals trot out for the next two seasons.

Anderson is the best hitter in the Cards' minor league system right now. Mather is a step behind. Jay and Rasmus had horrible starts but are starting to come on.

I was just looking at the Springfield team to see if there are any noticeable trends for the players emerging yet. For the most part, there aren’t. For Rasmus, it seems the last 2 days have just brought him back to where he was about a week ago:

Hoffpauir intrigues me. I'd like to see him develop into a cheap everyday 2B by the time Kennedy's deal is up.

Or Brendan Ryan RC, they could always move him over from ss. He started off hot then cooled and is now stating to hit again. He could be a cheap alternative at 2b and he has good upside. He's very athletic and as long as hes healthly hes hit at every level in the system.

He'll be 24 in about five weeks. And he's still in AA.

He'll be 26, almost 27, by the time Kennedy's contract ends.

I think his ceiling is a minor leaguer utility infielder.

Whats the story on Jon Jay? Does he have any power (or the chance to get some)? What are scouts saying about his ceiling?

He is projected as a 4th outfielder bench guy by most scouts. Some here have more faith in him and could give a more in-depth scouting report.

Springfield is playing a double header tonight and Rasmus has 2 home runs and a double in the two games. He has also hit the ball to teh track twice.

Jay has two triples tonight and left the second game after jamming his wrist on the second triple sliging into third.
