Memphis lost 7-3 to the Salt Lake Bees. Randy Keisler allowed 7 runs over 8 innings. But more importantly, he saved a bullpen that’s had to pitch 17 innings over the past 4 days due to rain delays and poor starts. John Rodriguez went 3 for 4 with a double and a triple. I guess he’s over the minor injuries that plagued him earlier in the season. Box Log
Springfield won 4-2 against Arkansas. Cory Rauschenberger allowed 2 runs over 6 and 2/3 innings with 5 strikeouts. Hopefully that will be the start of good streak for him. He started the season with an OK outing, then had 3 very, very bad outings, and then had 2 more OK outings; he finally had his first good outing tonight. Colby Rasmus went 1 for 3 with a double. Palm Beach won 3-1 against Sarasota. Adam Ottavino pitched 6 and 2/3 innings allowing 1 run with 6 strikeouts. Most encouragingly, he only gave up 1 walk. Really the only complaint about Ottavino this year is that he’s allowing too many walks – he’s allowed 18 in about 36 innings so far. Shane Robinson was 1 for 3 and stole his eleventh base this season. Isa Garcia was 2 for 3 with a double. First basemen Mark Hamilton continued his resurgence and went 3 for 4. Since April 20th he’s doubled his batting average from .133 to .266 today. Less encouraging is that the double today was only his second extra base hit this month. Box Log
Quad Cities won 7-4 against the Lansing Lugnuts. Elvis Hernandez gave up 2 runs over 3 and 2/3 innings with 5 strikeouts. Costarter P.J. Walters threw 4 scoreless innings also with 5 strikeouts. Brandon Buckman was 2 for 4 with another homer. Christian Lopez was also 2 for 4. Box Log
