Edmonds and Encarnacion DL-bound

Post by mikechamp »

Not completely shocking to read this, but still surprised me a little.

Anyone know when they would be eligible to come off the DL (i.e., when would their 15 days start)?

Um, I dont think Spiezio would start in RF.

My opening day guess would be one of the following:

LF-Dunc
CF-So
RF-Wilson

LF-Wilson
CF-So
RF-Duncan

LF-Speizo
CF-Skip
RF-Dunc

LF-Spiezio
CF-So
Rf-Duncan

LF-Wilson
CF-Skip
RF-Dunc

Or

LF-Spiezio
CF-So
RF-SKip

Ya know what?? NEver mind there are a crap load of choices.

That pretty much cements the Cobbler making the Opening Day roster, n'est ce pas?

Duncan is going to play in LF no matter what. Playing him in RF would be a short term fix and they need to get him accustomed to playing LF. If both Encarnacion and Edmonds start the year on the DL, I am fairly certain our opening day starting OF would be this: (and we'd be facing a left-handed pitcher in Glavine)

RF: Wilson
CF: Guch Bomb
LF: Duncan

Though if both Encarnacion and Edmonds start the year on the DL, I believe that opens up JRod to make the team.

This could be a disaster considering how bad Taguchi and Wilson have been playing in Spring Training.-

I thought Skip was hurting too.

Or even how bad they both were last year.

I just think Encarnacion starting the season on the DL is a blessing. I'd love to have Edmonds, of course, but we should be okay. Not trotting Encarnacion out there everyday allows us to stick anyone else out there. JRod has always impressed me, so hopefully he gets his shot.
