Why not Denorfia?

Rumor is the Reds may be shopping Chris Denorfia now that Josh Hamilton is the hot bat. Denorfia is a 26 year old right handed outfield bat with great hitting skills and speed - last year in AAA he hit .349, .409 OBP, 15 steals and 7 HR in 312 AB. Nothing left to prove for the guy in the minors.

I'd love to see him hitting leadoff for the Cards and I think we could use a RH outfield bat, as unlikely as it is for a team to trade within the division. What would it take to get him? The Reds seem to like slightly injured middle relievers, and we have some of those...

I doubt they'd want to give a prospect to make an in-division rival better.

I don't see who we could package to get him. I think he's a solid player, but we just don't have the prospects to give up for one, and two I think the Reds figure they are in a weak division and have a shot. They aren't going to help the enemy.

This is Reds we're talking about people. Offer Rincon and Josh Hancock, they won't be able to refuse.

No, one must be an INJURED pitcher. Do the Cardinals still have the rights to Mike Lincoln?

I thought people saw Denorfia as more of a 4th OF. And yes, the Cardinals could always offer up Lincoln.

I saw Marquis pitch in Spring Training last Sunday.

I hate to say it, but he was pretty good.
