players who did less with more

In reading of Hector Luna's demotion, I found myself thinking of how he always seemed to find a way to do less with more. Luna always struck me as a player of ability but not delivery, an athlete who never seemed to have a baseball mind.

The other great "less with more" Cardinal in my memory was Jose DeLeon who always seemed to have great stuff and no idea of how to use it. Sure, he had some good seasons, but he never seemed to know what to do with his ability.

Other nominees for the Less With More Club?

(There is also a More With Less Club, by the way, for whom Bob Tewksbury is the poster boy.)

JD Drew I would think. At least with his Cardinal years.

Prior and Wood. You might just chalk that up to injuries though.

Esteban Yan. You can't do less than he did with the Cardinals.
