" On the field as a St Louis Cardinal rookie I won more than 15 games with an ERA under 3. The Cardinals went to the World Series 3 times that decade! I was on the field for all 7 games of the 1964 World Series. I was on the field when Ray Washburn threw his no-hitter for the Cardinals in 1968. Who am I ? "

Yeah, this one has got me stumped. I was thinking someone from either the 40's or the 80's, but most likely not someone from the 60's.

Ken Burkhart

Was an umpire after his playing days!

Following his playing career, Burkhart developed as a competent umpire. He worked in three World Series (1962, 1964 and 1970), serving as crew chief in 1970, and in the 1972 National League Championship Series. He umpired in four All-Star Games (second 1959 game, second 1962 game, 1967 and 1973), and also umpired in no-hitters on consecutive days in 1968 for Gaylord Perry (September 17) and Ray Washburn (18).

Well if it was someone who was a rookie in the 80s, I don't think they could have been on the field in 1964 and 1968.

Also, although this is definitely a tricky, and possibly a trick, question, by "on the field" I mean during the game. So its not like a fan running on the field, or Phil Collins being in a crowd scene in one of the Beatles movies.

I even accidentally made it harder by noting "3 times" when I could have said "4 times".

But you have to go 3 times to go 4 times, so the original statements are still, technically, all true. But I didn't mean to do that.

It could have been a rookie from the 80's that was a batboy in the 60's.

If, he was an old rookie and a young batboy.
