I live in southeast Arkansas. I am considered in Cardinals territory, so all national coverage is blacked out...YET...I am not close enough to get Cardinals games on local stations because I'm too far from St. Louis. I get Astros games, but not Cards games. Now this TICKS me off. I'm ready to send a letter to Bud Selig to get this fixed. It's ridiculous! Black outs as a whole are STUPID. I hate it, because I get to watch mainly only games on the Cubs station (WGN) and the Astros station (FOX SOUTHWEST)...that's it.
It's so stupid, and I felt like ranting about it.

I have been watching St. Louis Cardinals on Fox Sports Midwest for years and have been selling DishNetwork for eight years. I have called DishNetwork and get no answer why the games are being blacked out. I have e-mailed Fox Sports Midwest and they will not even acknowlege my e-mail. I don't understand why Fox Sports Midwest, MLB or the St Louis Cardinals dont keep us fans up to date on whats going on. WE THE FANS ARE THE REASON THEY EXIST!!!!! Quit fighting over money and let the fans watch their teams..... Aaron

yeah I was reading somewhere, might have been the Post Dispatch where they said the Cardinals want the games on Fox Sports for the people of northern Illinois/Iowa/Arkansas, but Dish/etc wants to black them out.. so of course now all sides are wanting to bash the others..
I say goodluck and hopefully they get it all worked out....

I get something similar. I'm originally from the Conway area, which is also blacked out. But my parents' satellite only has Fox SW, thus putting them in your predicament. What's strange is that I'm currently in Arkadelphia, where not only is ESPN2 not blacked out, we get Fox MW. So I get 2 stations with the game, except in the summer, when I get neither.

Must depend on what part of Northern Illinois you are in. I'm 30 minutes east of DeKalb and it was not blocked out where I live.
The blackout rules need to be fixed. On EI last year, I got all of the Cardinal games fine unless they were playing Chicago. But that just meant I had to go to the local station to pick them up. If you live far enough away to not get on them on a local station but close enough to live within the blackout zone, then you are pretty much screwed.
