Found this little blip on the STLToday website. Anybody know what the ratings were for NCAA Women's Final Four on the flagship ESPN?
The Cardinals are off to a lousy start on the field but have had a roaring start in the television ratings.

According to Nielsen Media Research, 17.6 percent of homes with a TV in the market tuned in to their opener Sunday night, a game that was shown on ESPN2. That was the best rating for a Cards opener since a 19.1 figure in 1999.

Nationally the game was seen in 2.52 million homes, making it ESPN2's most-watched regular-season telecast ever. The record previously was when the 2005 opening-night game between the Yankees and Red Sox was seen in 2.39 million households.

Sunday's game drew the largest audience for a season opener on national TV since 1994, when ESPN drew 2.59 million homes for the Cardinals-Reds game.

FSN Midwest also had a big rating Tuesday night for its first Cardinals telecast of the regular season, 10.6. That was 23 percent higher than what FSN Midwest averaged for the Cardinals last season (8.6).
