4/9 Other Games

Post by haltz »

Chicago and Houston tied up 3-3, going to the 8th. Soriano scores from second on a throw in the dirt to Berkman from Biggio. Berkman kept the ball in front of him, but apparently Soriano is really fast.

The Mets offense continues to roll. Win over the Phillies 11-5.

Bob Howry is in danger of giving up the go ahead in the 8th after giving up a double to Morgan Ensberg. He then put a slider in the dirt and made me happy we have Yadier Molina and they have Michael Barrett. Ensberg went to third on the wild pitch.

The crowd is all over the ump in this game, and it's a full count with one out and a runner at third right now.

Adam Everett goes yard...5-3 Astros now.

wow

you just can't give hitters more than 3 strikes, teams more than 3 outs.

It will kill you.

Nope...just barely sneaked it out down the left field line. They have those nets on the top of the wall in Wrigley, and it looked like it either landed in that or no more than 2 rows deep.

Both teams have hit some balls that would have gone out of the ballpark entirely had it not been about 20 below in Chicago today..

C Lee crushed a ball, Berkman crushed a ball, D Lee crushed a ball, and actually Everett was pretty close to having another HR earlier in the game..

Ted Lilly is going to get lit up in this ballpark when the weather gets warmer...mark it down right now

Matt Murton follows in the Cubs tradition in the 9th by swinging at ball four and flying out to Carlos Lee in left. This was after Wheeler had gone 3-0 on him and had a few border line strikes to make it full.

Cesar Izturis hits one about 10 mph at Berkman, who flips to Wheeler covering. 2 down.

Daryle Ward in to pinch hit for Theriot. Soriano to follow, if he keeps the game alive. He hits a soft liner at Everett to finish it off. Wheeler gets the save, not sure who got the win, but it wasn't Woody. 5-3 stros the final.
