Soriano hurt

ESPN
After an offseason spending spree, the Chicago Cubs didn't expect to get off to a 4-7 start and they didn't plan on their $136 million man to be hitting .245.

Or to get hurt. But that's exactly what happened on Monday night as Alfonso Soriano left the Cubs game against the Padres in the top of the fifth inning with a strained left hamstring.

With one out and a Jose Cruz Jr. on third, Padres pitcher Clay Hensley hitting a sinking liner to center. Soriano rushed the ball and made an attempt at a shoestring catch but trapped it. He then got up and slipped while attempting a throw. Trainer Mark O'Neal tended to him, and Soriano grabbed the back of his leg. He walked off under his own power.

The Cubs listed Soriano as day-to-day.

The Cubs led 3-1 after Soriano went down and tacked on three more runs in the bottom of the fifth to take a big lead.

Not a big deal. In fact, some people are kinda happy that it guarantees Murton some PT, although the prognosis is that he's day-to-day like Ramirez was(who, btw, will be back in the lineup tomorrow).

As a Cardinals fan I can give you only one answer...

yeah, that's kinda an odd headline they have right now. I haven't heard anything indicating this is serious enough for a DL trip, yet that's what they're trumpeting on the front page.

It's a sexy headline even if it's inaccurate.
