Yep, apparently this guy doesn't know what he's doing. He picked up Hawpe when he dropped him. He's brand new to this league I'm in, so he must be just starting to learn about fantasy baseball. I took advantage.

Something similar happened to me the first year I played fantasy baseball.

A buddy of mine dropped Barry Zito when he was 1-2. I snatched him up. This was 2002 when Zito went 23-5 with a 2.75 ERA.

I had already drafted Randy Johnson in the 1st round (24-5, 2.32 era, 334 SO) and AP in the 2nd. Thanks to a ridiculously injury-free year, I came out on top.

The best part was, I passed the aforementioned guy for first place in the last week of the season to take the title.

His big replacement for Zito halfway through the season was Jason Simontacci.
