La Russa and pitching coach Dave Duncan plan to give reliever Brad Thompson Tuesday's start against the Milwaukee Brewers. Thompson worked a scoreless inning Saturday.

I think this is old article. This was wrote before the death of Josh Hancock.

From the article
"You deal with each challenge as its own situation," said Kip Wells, who starts Sunday night's nationally televised series finale. "You take each game, each inning, each pitch. You have to be focused on what you can control."

Keisler, Kester or whatever wasn't that bad was he?

I wish well for Brad, but him starting scares me.

Oh well, we have been reminded it is just a game.

I have a hard time thinking they'd start Thompson now that Josh Hancock is gone (feels really weird to put it like that).

That's a really interesting point because the two are/were interchangeable in terms of what function they perform.
