Reggie Sanders/Emiel Brown on the block per KC Star

Post by valley_card22 »

"A trade seems the obvious solution, but both players have been shopped since before spring training without generating serious interest. Finances appear a major stumbling block: Sanders, 39, is making $5 million; Brown, 32, is making $3.45 million.

“The Royals might be able to move them,” a rival club executive said, “if they eat all or most of their contracts. Even then, I don’t know if they’d get much in return.”

That could force club officials to consider simply releasing one or both in order to create additional roster flexibility.

“We’ve got a lot of guys up here in the outfield,” general manager Dayton Moore said. “It is what it is until we can massage through it and create some room and some more consistent playing time for some guys.”

Club officials make it clear that Butler will play virtually every day."

Hmmmm. Always liked Reggie. One of the good guys in baseball. Hope he lands somewhere thats a contender.

I'd take a flier on Reggie no matter the money. Afterall, it's not my money they would be spending. Plus, our offense sucks right now.

Its an odd year so we should definitely pick up Sanders (since 1995 he's followed mediocre even years with excellent odd years).

Being serious, I don't see how Reggie could be worse than Preston, Skip, or Juan. I can definitely see him being a lot better.

I don't think we'd take on either with Preston "swing and a miss" wilson still on board.
