Yeah, that would be an awesome PR move for the NBA with their referee point-shaving scandal...

They have a quality arena and a state without any professional franchises. When the Hornets were there the last couple of years the sold out every home game or close to it. Regardless of what you may think about OKC or Oklahoma in general that's all that matters.

Edit: There may be questions about the ability of OKC to support a team long term once the newness wears off. But by all accounts Kevin Durant is the next big thing in the NBA. Him being in the middle of the country and close to his established fan base in Texas can't be a bad thing.

I'm an OKie, and I'm not really interested in them coming. They would take TV time away from the Cardinals. The Cox station here broadcasted as many Hornets games as they could and they preempted the Cards broadcasts with them.

But, in general terms I think that they could come here and sell out many games and do well. They would have to compete with OU football, but they wouldn't play opposite each other very often. The Supersonics would draw from OKC and from Tulsa. That's about 1.6 million combined population just in the cities. There's a couple 100 k more in the outlying areas that are within 1-2 hours drive.
