Larry Fitz for LJ?

Post by vinsanity »

I think the question doesn't even need to be asked bt,

The Team:
QB: Peyton Pennington
RB: Brian Westbrook Carnell Williams(for the moment) Marshawn Lynch Tatum Bell
WR: TJ Alphabet Calvin Johnson Larry Fitz Dwayne Bowe Roddy White
TE: Shockey Jeff King

Elam
Green Bay

I would be getting Larry Johnson for Larry Fitz - thoughts?

Do it, but be prepared for a few more bad weeks from LJ. I don't expect him to be LJ of last year or 2005, but he'll be top 10 RB from here on out.

I'd consider trading him to someone else in a package deal for more reliable talent, though.

For more reliable RB talent? I don't think I can get much better at QB, I feel like Calvin Johnson and TJ are solid WR's so I don't really wanna move a back for a WR.

If I look for a RB, who's a good candidate right now? There's no real quality backs right now it seems.

How many RB WR do you start and what's left on the waiver wire WR wise?

First thing, pick up Correl Buckhalter in case Westbrook is out for an extended period of time!

Assuming you start 2 RB and 3 WR...

Even despite those questions, I'd make that deal.

That said, you will be trading to give you a really solid RB corps (LJ, Westbrook, Lynch, others)

at the expense of consistent WR production. Fitz is bound to give you anywhere between 8-13 points/game. If LJ picks it up, he'll give you more than that, but it is an unknown.

I think you're strong enough at WR to make the deal if you feel that LJ's upside is high enough. TJ Housh is a solid #1/really good #2, and CJ, when he's healthy, is an acceptable #2 if you league is 10-12 players, especially when you have Peyton at QB.

With that team, I would make that deal, but would be on the constant lookout to upgrade my third WR spot.

I'd drop Bell for Buckhalter btw. Kevin Jones is stealing carries from Bell now and should continue to do so.

Thanks JC, yea it's a standard Yahoo Public set up (2RB 3 WR and TE). I'd been lookin around for WR's and RB's to replace bell with.

Edit - WR's available - Reggie Brown, Mark Clayton, Devery Henderson, Anthony Gonzalez, Bobby Engram, Jurevicious, Pat Crayton, Mike Jenkins etc.

I would consider Willie Parker a good target--lots of yards, and is on a really good offense to boot.

Housh is a very solid producer, and Johnson has been very good so far, but he's probably a player that will have larger variations in his scoring. He caught 4 passes in each of the first two games--not bad, but not enough to trust his output those weeks as something you can really count on.

If you could trade something like LJ + Calvin for Parker + Driver, I wouldn't hesitate.
