My f**** blog

Post by StatmanCrothers »

wtf?

it's been over 6 months and my blog still hasn't been fixed.

i know its free, but wtf? wtf? wtf?

i'm trying to look into it myself without access to the guts and such.

the only links that seem to work are the main page itself, and the admin page.

so from the admin page i can edit old hidden entries by manually changing the URL, changing 'page=62' to 'page=7" or whatever, and old entries come up.

I went to one of the other blogs, that work fine, and i noticed that the links are different.

http://gatewayredbirds.com/TimeForGuinness/?page_id=2
http://gatewayredbirds.com/TimeForGuinness/?m=200704
http://gatewayredbirds.com/TimeForGuinness/?cat=3

clicking the same or similar links on my site, I get:

http://gatewayredbirds.com/statman/about/
http://gatewayredbirds.com/statman/http ... n/2007/06/
http://gatewayredbirds.com/statman/http ... cardinals/

which all show "Object not found!" page

seriously now, we've got one that works, one that doesn't
obvious differences.

so if I MANUALLY type in addresses like i see on the working site, but substitute statman for TimeForGuiness

http://gatewayredbirds.com/statman/?page_id=2

the link works! so all the data is still there. for some reason when system builds my blog page, it uses the wrong (outdated) linking system?

for god's sake. how hard could this be to fix?
what the f*** is going on?

i feel like i'm being seriously jerked around and it makes me alternately angry and depressed every time i think about it.

I've tried fixing it without much success. Perhaps I'll upgrade it and go from there. Sorry, I didn't realize this was such a pressing issue. Perhaps for maximum stability creating a blog on https://www.blogger.com/ would be optimal. I think I bit off more then I could chew. I apologize for any inconvenience.

well... its not a pressing issue, but this is a rant, right? it doesn't have to be important.

if it was a pressing issue i would have posted it in "site improvements"

perhaps the most frustrating part was never getting any feedback, like "I looked into it and its trickier than i thought..." as far as I could tell from results+communication it had never even been looked at.

if all else fails, a brand new blog would be fine.

If the above forum doesn't work, how about this:
