Those would not be the conditions I would want to jump out of a plane. Unless, it was a life or death situation, which in Normandy, it was.

What about the middle of a nice calm day, attached to an experienced jumper, in a position that makes landing in the specified landing field highly probable after a couple hours of training (but attached to an experienced jumper)? AKA the exact situation millions of first time jumpers do are exposed to every year.
