It's early, but Pete "Don't-Call-My-Swing-Poopy" Kozma's off to a hot-start.

Seems that way, but he's only hitting .196 (.651 OPS).

I think that actually qualifies as a hot start for him...

NewP - love the wrap ups. Thanks for doing them. Wondering if anyone could do like a weekly organization wide stat breakdown to show who is looking good. I see that so and so did three for four with a couple of rbi's - if that raises his ave to .081 I don't want to get to excited.

player, level, stats, maybe brief comment - limit it to like the top 20 stat wise plus Kozma (or other key names that may not be performing in the top 20).

Anyone, Anyone?

white hot

Really though, from what I've seen of him he's a slick defender.

I actually started a thread regarding which prospects we need to keep an eye on.

Unfortunately, i haven't been able to really keep up with it, but i certainly plan to try to post weekly updates on how our best prospects are doing.

At some point the Mendoza Line will be renamed the Kozma Line

Don't forget, Kozma is just turned 22 and is in AA.

His second half season at each level has been pretty good
A - .284 .363 .398 .760
A+ - .315 .381 .384 .765

He certainly wasn't ready for the jump to AA Springfield as a 21 year old last year after having played just 42 games at Palm Beach. If anyone needed a full season at high A it was Kozma. I think it was a mistake to push him that far, but his defense plays and has pushed him above his age and talent level. Hopefully history will repeat itself for him and he'll be more prepared for AA pitchers the second half season through. So far, he's driving the ball, but he's got to find more consistency at the plate.

I'll try to add some weekly reports starting this weekend. I was hoping to do more with these reports, but they're harder than I remember them being.
