Wild wacky but realistic trade thread

No this aint your grandaddy's Cards talk trade thread so we're not shipping duncan and mcclellan off for Tulowitzki. So, What are some realistic trade ideas that would either improve this team now or in the future?

Our needs, IMO:

SS
RP
SP

I was thinking last night, what about Craig for Jurickson Profar? Texas gets a hitting machine who can play 1B and RF who is cost controlled (cruz' contract is up after next year). We get our fixture at SS for the next few years.

Thoughts?

Adron Chambers, Tyler Greene and Shane Robinson for Wily Peralta, Tyler Thornburg, Taylor Jungmann and Jed Bradley.

I had been looking hard at Texas for one of Andrus/Profar.

Unfortunately Andrus contract is up after next year, so I think you're more likely to land Andrus as a FA or after Profar proves himself (which is why I don't want to commit major money to anyone like Hamilton or Hamels after this year).

Honestly? Granted it goes against my previous, wait and see for Andrus, I wouldn't mind seeing a sort of Freese+Cox/Adams/Rosenthal for David Wright in the same vain as Holliday a few years ago.

I guess that would be right around the time Profar would be ready.

I don't see us being major players for Andrus in the FA market.

~sigh~

That seems to be an awful lot for David wright.

Andrus is signed through 2014. And I dont think Craig would be enough to get Profar.

They'll have the money to spend, and I'd rather see them spend it on a SS like Andrus - speedy, decent OBP and good glove - than someone like Hamels.

I did mean just like two of the those, not all of them. Freese would be expendable for a 3B in a trade, but you'd still probably need something to sweeten the pot. I actually back down from that a little bit, given Wright's recent injury history and Freese emerging as a real option.

And he's hitting .360ish right now.

Guess that must be hollow in some sort of way.

Mentioned in the Matt Adams thread, but just wanted to discuss this idea further:

Mid-season the Phils decide they're out of it and offer us Hamels for Lynn and Craig but we get a 48 hr window to negotiate an extension. Given the Cards and Hamels can work out an extension, do you do the deal?
