I know they like to cram it down our throats that voting is our right and so many people fought and died for it and so on and so forth, but the election is the time when the population voices its opinion, and voter turn out is an expression of opinion to the powers that rule our country. Individuals who choose not to vote should be viewed as potential votes in the future and maybe future candidates will work harder to earn those votes.

I'm not sure why this isn't a good thing. The other choice is you give them one term in which they are beholden to nobody. I probably prefer the last option too but I think it's debatable and it depends on the office they hold.

I think candidates named Roger have clear potential.

Those named Dick rarely work out well, though.
