That wood is pretty but it's too dark for watching basketball. I bet it makes things a little harder to follow on tv.

Different baseball stadiums are the only sporting venues I really think there is a great difference in one venue to the next. No other sport is the dimensions of the game affected by where the game is taking place, that's all I care about for the most part. I guess a little bit in the NFL if one stadium is open air and the other is a domed stadium, or one has turf or grass but otherwise they're all the same.

True, baseball is so unique because not all of the dimensions are set. But I definitely see a difference in basketball, I can tell almost immediately by the floor where they are playing. Even casual fans recognize some floors (the parquet in Boston for example). Not so with other sports ... ice is ice. You see the logo or whatever, but there isn't a helluva lot you can do with ice or grass for that matter.
I never thought of the darker wood being an issue seeing the ball, that might be true.

The dark courts really do suck on tv. U of Oregon has one. Loving the herringbone though.

Correct me if I'm wrong but is this the first ever sports team in the big 4 sports to ever have black and white as team colors?
