Number 1 scoring defense in the nation...Take care of business againts Southern Cal and get ready to play either Bama or Georgia (You know....old man football)
All year I've been waiting for something to go wrong (well, at least all year through Nov. 3 - after that I knew BC and Wake would be walkovers). It's frightening to me how confident I am that ND's going to win, and comfortably, on Saturday.
So can we all assume it'll be ND vs. 'Bama in the BCS championship game. And this'll be the first time since the BCS Championship game began that ND has played in the big game.
When Devine coached the Packers, he was invited to speak in Madison at a sports journalism symposium and showed up unprepared. What a scatterbrain, he rambled for a few minutes and left.
Back on topic, I don't see USC able to upset them. But I am wrong 43 per cent of the time.

I had a friend who was a big ND fan who died a few months ago, and would have loved this.
I still say Dan Devine, who won one national championship in five years at ND did a better job than Holtz, who won one in ten years.
The difference between Devine and Holtz is Lou easily could have had two more. In 1989 and 1993 ND finished #2, with the head-to-head tiebreaker being utilized against the Irish in 1989 and, inexplicably, not being used against Florida State in 1993.
