Rant: Laid off

I think that speaks for itself. Kind of stunned right now, I was one of the first people hired in that department. Me and a handful of my work buddies got blindsided this morning. Between this and putting my cat of 17 years down a few days ago, this has been a [expletive] show of a week. On the bright side, I have another paycheck and a half coming plus payout for all my accrued PTO dates, and I was already looking for a new job anyway, but...wow.

Tough news, TM. Stay positive - convince yourself that this will lead to better things down the road.

You don't get any kind of severance package?

I'm very sorry to hear this. Might look like Mt. Everest right now, but I'm sure some day you will look back at it on a little bump in the road.

Nah, she left a while back and I've been seeing somebody for a couple of months anyway.
