Hey, it's a novel idea, but if you want real testimony for universal health care, why not ask people from other countries with experience? I know ACA doesn't deliver anything near what these people with universal health care are experiencing, but check out what actual citizens in these countries have to say. It's a far cry from death panels and all the other fear tactics. The majority also realize they're paying for it through taxes, but are fully OK with recognizing health care as a benefit to everyone as a right and not a privilege.

Now Ted Cruz says he's going to fight to defund Obamacare in the House budget. sigh... Can't wait to see this work in a majority of states that really try to make it work. Then maybe the rubes and yahoos fighting it so irrationally will lose their jobs.

you are correct Planet.-ACA is not comparable with Universal Health Care. Yeah it may be a first step forward, but ACA Is a misplaced faulty compromise by Obama. at end of 2009, he had the GOP over a barrel with the stronger dem representation in congress, and the original sunset of Bush tax cuts for the wealthy.

It seems he wasted his position on a watered down ACA that is crippled by the compromise complexities. And this states rights [expletive].

[expletive] states rights. states rights are just a tool to serve the interests of groups and even individuals that buy state houses.

I did read some. also I have a friend with lung cancer getting best treatment available at Massachussets General under RomneyCare-perhaps the closest to Universal in the US.

friend is a major liberal. It would work well if he could come back to MO for lengthy periods for family support during recovery. But he is bound to the state.

So, some states will get it right. most will not. health care, just another basic aspect that depends on state you reside...like castle doctrine, gun laws, collective bargaining, education, capital punishment, environmental regulation, etc etc etc.

the aca was never anything more than a first step. Its amazing it got done in such a polarized environment. It will be made better as time passes I hope. already price inflation is down and some places are seeing insurance companies estimating premiums will be significantly reduced from their first estimations.

I'd love to see that information. Because, what I've experienced, first hand, it's completely the opposite.

I think the biggest problem so far is we still don't know what the hell is going on really. Illinois's website just says keep checking back, meaning they don't know yet. I'm self insured so I'm hoping this is a good thing for me, but it looks like it may just be a confusing mess.
