Winter 2014/15

I'm going to go ahead and start the thread with this:

Yeah, it sucked today. I had to play in a golf event today...cart tents and heaters were provided, didn't help. It's gonna be a looooooong six months.

One forecast I saw said it was going to be a fairly mild winter. I don't think we have anything at all to worry about this year.

Funny, I've seen nothing but the opposite - a winter like we had last year. I hope your forecaster is right, but I'm not holding my breath.

Nah, we are fine. Nothing to worry about. I think it's going to be pretty smooth sailing this winter.

I heard a similar forecast as Jim - average or slightly milder than average. Last winter was epic and hopefully won't be repeated ever.

It can't be repeated. I won't make it.

I admit that I'm frightened. I think about those short days, that low sun angle, the snow and cold ... and the Polar Vortex. I never heard of that term until last year but now I know it and it scares me. I'm just not built for this. I have a plan, I have some projects that I hope will keep me busy and sane. I need to just get to the end of Feb, that's when I am planning a trip to Mexico. We will get back Mar 1, and once March hits the grip isn't so strong.

The Farmers Almanac is what everyone is talking about, they are saying a very bad winter but they are just guessing. I don't know if it's el niño or la niña or what but I've heard there is a good chance of that and that it should keep the weather moderate in the midwest.

Fingers crossed. Yesterday was really a shocker.

i remember hearing a predictive forecast for the winter which said it would be another cold one. but that was probably a month or so ago. it was that "famous" almanac that made the prediction

This weekend has just been a kick in the nuts. I don't know if I'm going to make it through another one.
