Atlanta Airport

i HATE HATE HATE ATL. Connecting to Huntsville sucks all. the. time. Tonight, it is a 4 hour delay and a gate change. The size of the delay is dribbled out and the gate change is announced 'maybe it will keep you on time' they say. Delta customer service is the worst when it comes to this kind of thing.

I held my breath when I made the reservation but it would have been 200 or 300 more to fly in from somewhere else. This is what i get from my money and I knew better.

ATL and Delta can go to hell.

I've had some bad experiences in ATL, too. Although one of those bad experiences was because of the herd of dudebros who were on my flight returning to STL. "You're boarding with the wrong zone, brah!" is a thing I actually heard.

Dulles is really bad. Really, really bad. To get to the baggage claim, you have to go up 4 flights of stairs, then down another, then up two more, get on a train, then go up two more flights of stairs in some other building.

I'm not fond of Dallas, either, but that's 100% because of the size. If you have a connecting flight there, it's like playing the slots that your gate will be close or else you're going to miss the connection.

Update - now 5.5 hours and all is dependent on a flight attendant who is 'in the air' and should be at the hate at 11 PM. If this isn't real, I think the next is wait til morning.

My sister and nephews got Chris Carpenter's autograph at a layover in ATL Airport.

We always try to fly direct, and have no reason to go to Atlanta so I've only been there once. There were no issues. O"Hare is the pits. Denver is the pits in that it's in Kansas, not Denver. If we want to name drop famous places we have been to which I will, De Gaulle in Paris is by FAR the worst airport in the world with the worst people in the world.

My son got Ryan Dempster autograph in Phoenix. Spring training was ending, his wife was having a baby (the one with the problems), and he had to take a commercial flight to go be with her as the team was preparing for Houston. We went through the scanners basically together, and got a chance to talk with him a minute. PaintItRed told him he respected him but wished he was a Cardinal lol... Guy is first class all the way.

Maybe it's just my familiarity with it, but I've never had any issues with O'Hare. And I've flown in and out of there a lot. Probably more than half of the flights I've ever taken in my life involved some kind of connection to O'Hare. But then, I've also only had to drive to O'Hare once.

My only international flight story was in Amsterdam, where I got drug searched basically because:

a) I was under 30
b) I have a beard
c) I was an American, flying back to the States, from a city that's basically a giant head shop for stupid Americans

I hate it also because of the parking issues - very expensive and far away. When we fly Southwest we go out of Midway and it's 100x easier.
