It's weird, but the cushiness of the situation is what I understand the least. I understand on a macho neanderthal level the idea of pursuing a wild animal, using your skill to track him down and then displaying it as evidence of effort. I would never do it, but I get the appeal. But knowing that you're an erstwhile dentist who paid a large amount of cash, traveled from your suburban house to another country, lured the lion outside it's preferred environment to kill it, then just beheaded it presumably after taking a selfie. It seems like going to Epcot and saying you went to Europe.
