Office Temps
When I came in to work yesterday, the temp in my office was 68 degrees. There is a cold snap - high temp was 68 yesterday - in PHX, and the Distribution Center I work at had not turned on the heat yet. I just kept my jacket on and worked on. Some of the ladies out on the floor complained so the heat was turned on. My office is now 80 degrees and I am dying. I prefer cold over warm, I can always get warm through a jacket or something, but I can never cool off. Mrs. Wart is the same as these office girls, if it gets in to the 60's at night in the house she wants to turn on the heat, even though scientific studies have shown temps in the mid 60's are ideal for sleep.

I thought this was going to be about the other kind of office temp.wart57 wrote:When I came in to work yesterday, the temp in my office was 68 degrees. I just read an article about this, actually, about a study that found the average female resting metabolism to be lower than the average male, so women really are colder than men, and they can't help it at that level. Obviously, that doesn't preclude them from putting on sweaters.

I saw that study too. I understand it too, but does it really need to be 80 [expletive] degrees?redbirdjazzz wrote:I thought this was going to be about the other kind of office temp.wart57 wrote:When I came in to work yesterday, the temp in my office was 68 degrees. Women, you have a lower resting metabolism, I get it, but why are you still dressing like it is 100 degrees outside when it is only going to be in the 70's and low 80's most of the week?

The ones that get me are the ones who are bundled up in an 80 degree office and still cold.wart57 wrote:I saw that study too. I feel you dog. My wife is like this too. I like to keep the house around 70. She'd like it around 75+. Sometimes she'll sneak the thermostat up. After a while, I start to get a head ache and feel ill. Then I realize it's warm in the house. I'll check, and sure as [expletive], it's set at like 73. I bump it back down and she'll make some snide remark about freezing and having icicles on her nose. I don't care anymore. Put on a [expletive] sweater.
The worst is when she does it after I go to bed. I wake up in a pool of sweat around 1 am. It pisses me off to no end.

I am in a house with 5 girls, I will be sitting in a pool of sweat on the couch, and the girls will all have blankets on.GeddyWrox wrote:I feel you dog. My wife is like this too.
