McDonald's

Post by stlouie_lipp »

Not only is their food horrible, their marketing is even worse. McPick2 - wtf is that? I hope they go out of business.

The food is so terrible the marketing must have been good, right? How is BK behind McDonalds? I do know that kids at a very early age identify the golden arches, I'm sure that was some marketing that went into that logo/color scheme.

That pick two commercial where the white girls are basically throwing up gang signs is why the terrorists hate us.

Sideways duces and duck face selfies while saying "McPick2". Go to Wendy's!

Yes It has gotten worse. In the old days-manager assessed the crowd and called out what to start. we cooked the frozen patties on a grill, seared it, and flipped it. Toasted(or carmelized) the buns. After a short period of time, if not sold they were tossed.

If you look back there now, nobody is cooking. They put it in a clamshell doohickey and then put it in plastic heating tray. The "cooks" are just pulling it out of trays. Longer shelf life. Less fresh.

Not saying the place is great or anything. Just by comparison. I don't care about commercials because I haven't seen them. I guess I do prefer Wendys over it. Unless the Wendy's or wherever is part of an interstate gas station. Mostly just get a coffee and sausage biscuit. Maybe a Mcdouble on occassion,

I always found that my fast food enjoyment depended a lot on the store. The Hardees by my subway stop just got totally re-furbished, but that hasn't helped their terrible burgers with cold cheese, slab-hard bacon nor have they improved their always-stale fries and overly milky milkshakes. The staff just completely suck. A fresh Hardees burger meal with a milk shake is probably my favorite fast food order, and they can't get any of it right.

The McDonalds on Times Square? Insanely busy, but god damn does every Big Mac and fries come out hot and perfectly condiment balanced.

When I was attending Iowa State last millenium, the Arby's in Ames Iowa had a big plaque saying Top Store in the Country by their company several years running. All the staff made jokes to customers, the food was flawless (I mean, for Arby's, of course) and they have totally ruined me on Arby's forever, because every other time I've had it, at least one part of my old favorite order is mediocre to inedible.

Have the fries changed like dramatically over the years? I remember thinking at one time McDonald's had the best fries in the business, but now they are just awful.

Yeah, they changed the oil they fry them in to have less saturated fats.
