Yay!

Put Heyward in RF, trade Soler for Cobb.

I'm thrilled with this!

No comp pick (and slot money).

I would assume that Soler and/or Baez will be moved if they can find any kind of pitcher with upside and team control. Not that those guys are falling out of trees.

The Cubs not getting the 38th pick is not a good reason to like this move.

They already traded Coghlan. Theo says they will go into the season with what they have in the OF.

Cubs president Theo Epstein said Thursday that he doesn't anticipate making any more trades.
Epstein and Co. dealt Chris Coghlan to the A's on Thursday morning and then promptly announced the re-signing of Dexter Fowler to a one-year, $13 million deal. Fowler is probably going to take back over as the Cubs' starting center fielder, shifting newcomer Jason Heyward over to right. That leaves a split in left field for Kyle Schwarber and Jorge Soler, and the right-handed-hitting Soler would likely be the lesser-used part of that platoon. It's not an ideal fantasy situation for the 24-year-old Cuban.

Dexter Fowler turned down $15 million for 1 year and signed a 1 year contract for $13 million instead.

Well done.
