Round 2 Discussion Thread
So Round 1 is in the books! Thanks to everyone who voted - there were a few surprise upsets I think, but a majority of the powerhouse covers won each of their respective matches.
The matchups get more difficult now, and they will get even harder next week once we hit the Sweet 16.
Head on over to http://challonge.com/GRB_cover_tourney to see the latest set of matchups. Pending any terrible feedback to resolve, the format will stay the same for the Round of 32. I'll get the next eight matchups posted today, and will set the polls to run for 48 hours unless there is a tie, in which case I will extend it day by day until there's a winner.
What did everyone think - any feedback for me running the tournament? Any changes you'd like to see in the format? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller? Voodoo economics.
I apologize for the first set of matchups on the polls - I don't recall ever making one here on GRB, so I didn't know you could actually set a time duration for the poll to run. I didn't figure that part out until the second set - so some of the first few matches were allowed to run longer than they were supposed to, although I captured the scores as the matches ended, so all is well on that front.

My only suggestion, and it's really minor: In each matchup, can you state the seeding? Like No. 1 "Hurt" by Johnny Cash v. No. 16 "American Pie" by Madonna. I like a good underdog story, so I'd like to see the rankings.

Sure thing. I probably won't be able to put it in the subject line due to the limited number of characters allowed, but I can definitely put it in the main post for each matchup with the videos.heyzeus wrote:My only suggestion, and it's really minor: In each matchup, can you state the seeding? Wait, there are seedings? I thought everything was just randomly assigned a slot.

Re: Round 2 Discussion Thread
They were randomized seeds/slots, yes. The bracket format isn't divided into four "regions" like a traditional NCAA bracket, so the seedings are essentially pointless.AWvsCBsteeeerike3 wrote:Wait, there are seedings? I thought everything was just randomly assigned a slot.

3-0, baby. But Prince dying probably helped with that. It could come crashing down this round.Tim wrote:2-1 in the first round! Grunge lives on!
