Some billionaire paid 28 million for a seat on Bezos rocket.. Then backed out because of a conflict... The money some people have to waste.

Nothing says "Let them eat cake" like these gargantuan wastes of money that are Jeff Bezos' and Richard Branson's space projects. And whatever Elon Musk is burning billions on.

im sure there might be some advantages scientifically/technologically to have other operations going into space other than the govt but at the end of the day it seems like this is mostly for ego and promoting/enriching the billionaires businesses. i personally didn't consider branson's trip "going into space". you can do weightlessness in a vomit comet.

I think there's a petition going around to keep bezos from returning to Earth once he goes up

I have to admit, that I had the resources to do this very thing, I wouldn't.
